Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
Performance Optimization:
Identify and resolve performance problems on Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server and/or Amazon RDS PostgreSQL instances.
Evaluate SQL execution plans to identify costly operations and recommend optimizations.
Assess the need for indexes or query restructuring based on query plans and performance metrics.
Find and address missing indexes and relationships to enhance performance.
Monitor and alert on performance metrics to proactively manage database health.
Database Backup and Migration:
Perform database backups and restorations, including point-in-time recovery, in Azure and AWS environments.
Manage and execute database migrations as required.
Expertise in Cloud Databases:
Expertly manage and evaluate performance metrics for Azure PostgreSQL and AWS RDS PostgreSQL.
Utilize CloudWatch and Performance Insights for AWS RDS to monitor and take corrective actions.
Security and Compliance:
Perform periodic security checks to ensure adherence to security policies and practices.
Maintain compliance with security policies and procedures.
Technology Utilization:
Utilize technologies including Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, TessellCloud, CyberArk Privileged Access Management, ServiceNow IT Management, Azure MySQL, Azure MS SQL databases, and Databricks.
Technical Skills:
Experience: 5 years of experience with Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server and/or Amazon RDS PostgreSQL (Standard/Aurora).
Performance Analysis: In-depth knowledge of identifying performance issues and evaluating SQL plans to address high-cost operations.
Indexing and Query Optimization: Ability to identify the need for indexes or query restructuring and find missing indexes and relationships.
Monitoring: Strong ability to monitor performance metrics and take corrective action.
Backup/Migration: Expertise in database backup, restoration, and migration processes.
Cloud Expertise: Proficiency with Azure PostgreSQL and AWS RDS PostgreSQL, including performance metrics and corrective actions.
Security: Experience in performing security checks and maintaining database security policie
