Database Support Specialist

Job Description

• Maintain Databases on MySQL 8.x / MySQL AWS RDS.
   
• Good exposure in AWS cloud services
   
• Managing Client requests independently.
   
• Proactively monitoring the database and taking preventive or corrective action as required.
   
• Performing Database Failover ensuring best practices for Aurora RDS MySQL is followed.
   
• Hands On experience with Aurora Features and understanding of High Availability concepts
   
• Zeal to perform under strict deadlines and learn new tools/technologies.
   
• Troubleshooting database & performance issues and query optimization at database level  enhancing overall system responsiveness.
   
• Monitor and analyze database logs, addressing issues to ensure uninterrupted service.
   
• Good exposure of logical backup and recovery methods.
   
• Exposure to community based tools for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
   
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and patches, ensuring seamless transitions.
   
• Database User management.

• Overall 3 plus years of experience in Database administration on AWS cloud.
   
• 2+ years’ hands-on experience in managing MySQL 8.x / AWS MySql RDS.
   
• 1+ years’ hands-on experience in managing PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL).
   
• It is mandatory to work from the customer office on all business working days.
   
• Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills.
   
• Education: MSc IT, MCA, BE, BTech, MTech
   
• Should be able to work in rotational 24X7 shifts or On call as applicable.
   
• Should have sound knowledge of ITIL.
