  • Understand the process of how to start up a new deployment, what common issues may arise, and how to solve them

Must Haves:

Focus is on DataPower infrastructure engineers.

APIC experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

• Experience supporting full lifecycle of the infrastructure platform, including deploying new physical and virtual DataPower appliances, firmware updates, migrating between form factors, managing certificates and related objects, and troubleshooting configuration and operational issues

Bonus Skills:

  • API Connect, including APIC v10
  • APIC and DataPower on OpenShift / Kubernetes / Cloud Pak for Integration
  • Automation capability using shell, python, ansible, or similar.
  • Dashboarding, reporting, and alerting using Splunk or similar tools.
  • Strong drive for process improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

This team will focus on their non APIC DataPower environments; owning and evaluating this environment: nailing down overall scope, area of improvement, mapping and owning the environment as a whole. This position will be responsible for operations stability and excellence, supporting incoming requests, incidents, and change requests across the environments. It is responsible for creating and using dashboards, reports, platform monitoring, and alerts to quickly determine health of the systems and identify issues as soon as they arise. This role will be involved in root cause analysis as well as determining and implemented best practice and procedural enhancements. The Manager, Web Engineering will support a 24x7 on-call schedule on a weekly rotation. They will also perform after-hours changes and support other teams with their changes as needed.
