Role:  DB2 Systems Programmer

GC or USC

Remote to start then hybrid in NYC (Local candidates only)

****MUST HAVE - DB2 Data Sharing experience

• Candidate should be experienced in a Z/OS mainframe environment
• Must have DB2 Data Sharing experience - with multiple DB2 and MVS Subsystems
• Requires experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of relational databases excellent understanding of relational data base technology
• Experience with JCL, Cobol, SQL including DDL, DML, and DCL
• Experience with database management utilities (Image Copy, Recovery, REORG, RUNSTATS, Load, Bind, Explain, etc.)
• Candidate should be capable of investigating and resolving performance issues within the DB2 subsystem including the ability to use DB2 tools to diagnose and provide recommendations
• Ability to understand explain plans, understand optimizer decisions and provide recommendations for SQL / Index tuning
• Candidate should have a working knowledge of database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, DB2 performance and problem determination in a 24 x 7 environment
• Minimum 5+ years of work experience as a DB2 Database Administrator
• Outage/incident management – from initial troubleshoot/ resolution though to root cause analysis and driving subsequent corrective measure implementation
• Providing consultancy services to application support groups/developers
• Scripting, automation experience via Rexx or other tools
• Must have financial industry background
