Must haves
Candidate should be experienced in a Z/OS mainframe environment
Requires experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of relational databases excellent understanding of relational data base technology
Experience with JCL, Cobol, SQL including DDL, DML, and DCL
Experience with database management utilities (Image Copy, Recovery, REORG, RUNSTATS, Load, Bind, Explain, etc.)
Candidate should be capable of investigating and resolving performance issues within the DB2 subsystem including the ability to use DB2 tools to diagnose and provide recommendations
Ability to understand explain plans, understand optimizer decisions and provide recommendations for SQL / Index tuning
Candidate should have a working knowledge of database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, DB2 performance and problem determination in a 24 x 7 environment
Minimum 5+ years of work experience as a DB2 Database Administrator
Outage/incident management – from initial troubleshoot/ resolution though to root cause analysis and driving subsequent corrective measure implementation
Providing consultancy services to application support groups/developers
Scripting, automation experience via Rexx or other tools
Must have financial industry background
