Description

Required Skill Set:

  • DNS Protocols: In-depth knowledge and understanding of DNS protocols, including how DNS works, A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, TXT records, and both forward and reverse DNS lookups.
  • DNS Configurations: Proficient in managing and configuring DNS records.
  • DNS Security (DNSSEC): Knowledge of DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) to protect the integrity of DNS information.
  • TCP/IP Networking: Understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and routing as DNS is a key part of networking.
  • DNS Management Tools: Experience with any DNS management tools.

Job Requirements:

  • DNS Troubleshooting: Experience diagnosing and resolving DNS-related issues, including domain resolution failures, slow lookups, and incorrect configurations.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in high-pressure situations where DNS issues impact services.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in configuring DNS records accurately.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with teams when requests are incomplete or inaccurate.

Nice to Have:

  • Infoblox Experience: Knowledge of Infoblox DNS management solutions.
  • Automation/Scripting: Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate DNS configurations and tasks.
