Description:
Designs, develops, builds, and implements new components, products, or technologies.
Responsibilities:
Researching new materials and competitive products.
Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Typical Task Breakdown:
Builds three-dimensional models with basic materials.
Communicates with cross-function engineering teams (internally and externally) to understand various requirements of product design.
Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.
Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
Assists in building a complex prototype of a product.
Interaction with Team:
Daily team (internal and customer) interactions, including in-person and virtual meetings.

Office environment/cubical
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field required.
2-4 years’ experience required.
Technical Skills (Required):
Knowledge of cooling systems technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Generates specifications for parts or components with CAD software.
Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
Uses CAD to perform basic drafting such as wire frames, solid objects, and an array of objects.
Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.
