The primary responsibility is to develop innovative designs for plastic inserts (3D and 2D) in collaboration with the Project Team, including Product Engineers, CAE Simulation Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Program Manager. This involves working closely with customers and suppliers to meet project requirements in terms of performance, quality, and timing.
Main Contributions:
Utilize CAD technologies to enhance competitiveness by designing plastic inserts for wheels, ensuring technical requirements, reliability, manufacturability, and quality.
Adhere to technical standards and guidelines, incorporating lessons learned from previous projects and considering process simulations results.
Propose adjustments in mold designs to improve plastic insert performance.
Suggest improvements to existing plastic design standards and guidelines based on new knowledge or positive experiences from past projects.
Manage Mold CAD design information effectively and ensure timely releases for construction.
Duties (Estimated % of Time):
Develop plastic insert design styling design, models, and drawings (70%)
Provide CAD mold design data and conduct mold flow simulations (20%)
Support other departmental activities requiring CAD support in plastic insert design (7%)
Maintain control of CAD data and shared information (3%).
