Client is seeking an experienced visual studio 2017 developer with previous exposure to working in a financial services industry. The right individual will need to leverage their existing skills to quickly familiarize themselves with our existing environment and technology to deliver on time sensitive projects for a leading investment manager. Must Have skills: • Minimum 7+ years of experience as an visual studio developer ( VS C++ 2006/ VS C++ 2017) • Exposure to Unix, classic ASP, SQL server a must. • Exposure to Java and Visual Basic is an added advantage. • Prior experience working in the Capital Markets domain with Asset Management, Investment Banking organization is preferred • Strong coding, design & debugging skills preferred • Writing use-cases, test-cases, BUAT, meeting with Client Sr. Managers, presenting business solutions, setting up/fine tuning business processes, project-tracking /status, etc is an added advantage. • Complete understanding of the Trade Life Cycle • Experience with all phases of the SDLC • Advanced knowledge of SQL: Sybase • Should have worked and delivered projects in a fast-phased approach • Demonstrated ability to work well with different business users and stakeholders group • Experience with multiple testing approaches: Functional, Regression, Integration and User Testing • Ability to manage/track multiple projects and working with multiple Dev. Teams. • Ability to coordinate with onshore/offshore developers Nice to have skills: • Experience with Jira and tracking PLM • Experience in Prod support • Data mapping skills • Gap/Comparative analysis • Report analysis • What are the top 3 must-haves you will be looking for in the resumes/interviews for this role? What type of software skills is an absolute must have? o 7+ years experience as an ANSI C developer coding for Windows Intel and Solaris SPARC. o Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Sybase a plus). o Excellent verbal and written communication skills • What are the top 3 “nice to have” that would separate a successful candidate from their competition? o Experience in the financial industry with knowledge of trade flow and corporate actions o MQ experience a plus o Unix and Unix shell scripting • Is this role supporting a specific project or initiative, which project or initiative is this role supporting? o This position is to support the Investment Book of Records development team. o The candidate will develop and support existing, and possibly new objects, written in C and used by our in-house Cobol applications. Responsibilities will include hands-on development, analysis, working with architecture team to design high-end solutions, creation and execution of test plans according to Client’s published Development Process Framework. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide production support as necessary.
