DevOps Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Client's Engineering team of 13, focusing on our API Gateway project based in San Diego. This role demands hands-on experience in CI/CD management, cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and containerization with Kubernetes. The position requires on-site work with the possibility of initial hybrid scheduling, a strong foundation in scripting languages like Python and Groovy, and proficiency in automating deployment and integration processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Automate the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and troubleshoot issues, emphasizing release, rollback, and hotfix processes.
• Develop, design, and evaluate automation scripts and systems, ensuring scalable applications and integration with infrastructure builds.
• Maintain and manage cloud infrastructure with a strong command over AWS and Kubernetes, implementing and integrating new technologies for improved performance.
• Engage with multiple teams to understand requirements, solve problems, and implement automation solutions.
• Provide guidance and support to new team members, actively participating in team meetings and operational reviews.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in Jenkins and Groovy for pipeline automation.
• Strong scripting skills in Python; Java knowledge is a plus.
• Extensive experience with AWS and Kubernetes.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Previous experience in DevOps roles, particularly with background in software engineering or system engineering focusing on cloud infrastructure, API gateway projects, and continuous integration and deployment.
