 DevOps engineer

• First and foremost, they must be strong with troubleshooting and configuring.
• Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible
• AWS – understands it’s architecture and how it works.
• Strong Scripting
• Batch, Groovy, Javascript, terraform scripting.
• Monitoring – for example: splunk, rancher
• Kubernetes Cluster
• Pluses – helm charts, python, apigee
• Strong communicator / problem solver / thinker

Internal Job Description:

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:   (AWS DevOps)

•            Provide subject matter expertise for ongoing support of third-party tools like Kafka, Artifactory, Terraform, Apigee.

•            Support the lower environments for incident and problem management

•            Resolve complex support issues in non-production environments.

•            Have an understanding of Cloud Native applications running on Kubernetes within AWS.

•            Assist production support and development staff in debugging environment defects.

•            Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to cloud native applications

•            Write complex automation scripts using common automation tools, such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform

II. SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•            Expert understanding of:

o            Systems administration and change management practices

o            Message-oriented technologies such as Kafka

o            Internet / Web based technologies

o            ITLT Best Practices

o            Scripting and coding

o            Network technologies

o            CI/CD tools such as Artifactory, Jenkins, and GIT

o            Cloud native applications, including Terraform experience

o            Technologies used to support microservices

o            Encryption technologies (SSL/TLS, PKI Infrastructure management)

o            Security controls as applied to software technologies
