JOB ROLE:
Job Title: Dev/Research Engineer 
Location: Mossville IL, Day One Site
Client: Aditi Consulting / Caterpillar
Duration: 12 Months
Experience: 5 to 10 Years Must

Position’s Contributions to Work Group: 
This position will be supporting the development and validation of robust liquid level sensors and pressure switches. This engineer will be working with internal customers domestic and internationally to identify and develop world class sensors and switches for various applications. These components will be developed to be robust cost-effective options for Caterpillar customers. We have several exciting projects on this team to build our product portfolio. The incumbent will also support the needs of the local team with staff level responsibilities for other electrical components.

Typical task breakdown:
Support the development of new continuous oil level sensors for engine applications.
Participate and lead projects to develop new components that are not currently in the team’s product line to support enterprise objectives regarding cost, quality and velocity.
Develop validation and implementation plans for the release of new sensors to the existing catalog
Manage switch and sensor suppliers and process engineering change requests to support our customers’ needs
Support engineering team members with staff level engineering assignments

Interaction with team: 
Needs to be a self-starter, but also collaborate with local and larger teams
Work with local team in order to understand processes and procedures. Will be working under a local team lead that owns the liquid level and pressure switching portfolio. The incumbent will be tasked with specific projects and deliverables while also supporting customer needs.
Collaborate with an international team on project and component details
Individual work will be self directed in order to meet customer and supplier timelines

Work environment: 
100% onsite until fully trained. Minimum 3 days/week onsite after, up to 100% onsite as business needs dictate.

Technical Skills 
Ability to read and understand prints, specifications and standards
Experience managing projects with an unknown solution at the start of the project
Knowledge on the function of oscilloscopes and other electronic tools
(Desired) 
Knowledge of electro-mechanical components
Experience working with and managing suppliers
Understanding of dynamic systems and control software
Understanding of the off-highway equipment market
