Role:

 

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to our client in August 2012. Our client is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4- year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG), and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

 

The Drafter III prepares complex drawings, computer models, assemblies, sectional profiles and various views for construction projects. Work requires advanced knowledge/use of drafting standards, advanced Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) techniques and advanced knowledge of CAEG terms and procedures.

The Drafter III works with client’s representative, engineers and co-workers to achieve desired results. Very good coordination, communication skills and the ability to multi-task is important. Will assist in maintaining a productive CAEG department.

 

General requirements:

• This Drafter III prepares advanced drawings (plan, elevation, profile views, details and notes) for construction projects. Processing redlined construction drawings for as-built conditions and various other duties as assigned.

• Communication with client’s representative, engineers and co-workers.

• Advanced knowledge/use of CAEG techniques, advanced knowledge of procedures and terms of the industry.

• Working as a valuable part of a team.

 

Specific duties are:

• Coordination and communication skills are very important.

• Work independently with minimum supervision.

• Able to interpret and incorporate client’s CAEG standards.

• Proficient with AutoCAD, drafting to scale, working with layers and reference files.

• Knowledge of ProjectWise and Microstation helpful, not needed.

• Productive with Adobe Acrobat, MS Office and Google Earth.

• Accepts assignments from CAEG Manager/Supervisor or assigned lead.

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma is required.

• Associate Degree or higher preferred.

• 10 years of CAEG experience (minimum). 8 years of CAEG experience (minimum) with degree.

• Proficient with AutoCAD.

• Good oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, are prerequisites.

Any Graduate
