Description

Job Description:

  • Able to evaluate the current system architecture, then make strategy for integration of individual components into the full engine.
  • Provide strategy for high voltage vs low voltage safety in terms of layout.
  • Advise high level diagrams/ schematics to give team clear direction.
  • System Design and Architecture:
  • Develop electrical system architectures that meet product requirements and specifications.
  • Define the system-level electrical components, interfaces, and interconnections.
  • Conduct trade-off analysis to optimize system performance, cost, and reliability.

Requirements Analysis:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and define system requirements.
  • Translate high-level requirements into detailed electrical specifications.
  • Ensure that the electrical system design aligns with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Component Selection and Integration:
  • Evaluate and select electrical components, such as microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and power supplies.
  • Oversee the integration of components into the system architecture.
  • Conduct compatibility testing and troubleshooting to resolve integration issues.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to obtain certifications and approvals as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create detailed design documents, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and test results.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5~10 years of experience in electrical system design, architecture, and integration.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Should have familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as CE, CSA, ISO, IEC, and UL.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) for electrical system analysis.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems development and programming languages (e.g., C, C++).
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) and electric vehicles (EVs).
  • Certification in systems engineering or project management (e.g., INCOSE, PMP) is a plus.
