Engineering Director/Manager

Job Description:

• The Client is seeking a Engineering Director / Manager to work in the Enterprise Data, AI, GenAI and Enterprise Organization.
• This individual will specifically be leading teams delivering and expanding highly performant and scalable data products and platforms to drive consumption of data from the enterprise data ecosystem while driving data engineering best practices.
• The candidate will also be responsible for designing new solutions and executing GenAI use cases to ensure that Client can increasingly innovate with its data assets.

Responsibilities:

• This leader must be able to attract and recruit the industry's best talent and simultaneously have the technical chops to ensure that the organization builds compelling, customer-oriented solutions in an iterative methodology.
• Responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance across the Engineering team and GenAI product line.
• Requires deep familiarity across the stack – full stack dev, data engineering, compute infrastructure, Client frameworks, orchestration layers, large models, and frameworks like Lang Chain for developing applications powered by GenAI models, and target use cases in the AWS cloud.
• Responsible for the work of all engineering staff within an organization
• Managing program budgets
• Overseeing Gen AI use case execution teams
• Helps designing engineering strategies
• Provide collaborative leadership to build out the GenAI function, GenAI Engineers, MLOps and Data Engineering
• Verifying project compliance with engineering best practices
• Keeps a check on demand- supply management
• Collaborating with client IT and business stakeholders

• Strong engineering and technology background with the ability to learn quickly and go deep into product and engineering solutions.

• Work to modernize the existing tech stacks and data platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to find areas of opportunities for automation and machine learning.
• Partner with architects, program managers, product owners, data professionals, and software & data engineers to drive the implementation of new applications.
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments and provide operational support for the applications.

Preferred:

• 15+ years of experience in software and data engineering
• 15+ years of experience managing software and data engineering teams.
• 10+ years of experience with AWS or any public cloud platform
• 10+ years of experience with Full stack development (web/API)
• 10+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools
• 10+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms and managed services
• B.S. or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields.
