DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Produce drawing from layouts, sketches, 3D models or physical parts for manufacturing and assembly of aftermarket repair components, and release according to project schedule.
2. Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, completeness, and content to conform to company standards.
3. Release completed drawings according to Aurora document release procedures.
4. Maintain and update drawing files.
5. Revise and update existing drawings.
6. Layout and design new products and tooling under direction of the Project and/or Design Engineer.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. A minimum of a two year technical degree with coursework in technical drafting.
2. 1 to 3 years minimum of 3D CAD software experience, preferably with experience working in a sheet metal environment. Solid Edge experience a plus.
3. A basic understanding of fabrication techniques and machining processes.
4. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Prefer to have knowledge of the heavy duty trailer and truck parts industry with a general understanding of those parts and their functionality.
