Environmental Engineer

Fulltime Role: Environment Engineer

Location: Dallas TX or Pittsburgh PA

Responsibilities:

· Design, build, and maintain development, testing, and production environments for software applications or systems.

· Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to understand their environment requirements.

· Set up and configure hardware, software, and network components for environments.

· Automate environment provisioning and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

· Monitor and troubleshoot environment issues, including performance bottlenecks, configuration errors, and connectivity problems.

· Implement and manage environment security controls, including access management and vulnerability scanning.

· Maintain environment documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

· Collaborate with release management teams to ensure smooth promotion of code between environments.

· Continuously optimize and improve environment setups and processes.

· Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in environment management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

· Proven experience in environment engineering, infrastructure management, or related roles.

· Strong understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

· Proficiency in scripting and automation languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

· Experience with OCP, IIS background, PING, Networking, F5, SSO, Authentication and Logging.

· Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

· Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

· Understanding of security principles and best practices for securing environments.

· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
