Firmware development for embedded micro-processor systems for new and existing optical positioning instruments. Development of PC based applications for instrument diagnostics and testing as well as for production and service.
The development and maintenance of optical geodetic instruments like the Trimble Digital Level DiNi®, the Terrestrial Laser Scanners of the Trimble X-Series or the construction layout total stations like Trimble Ri and PLT400 from Hilti AG.
You will have a wide field of tasks with a freedom of design and contribute your authoritative technical expertise in a particular technical area, which can be used in multiple systems.
You will generate inputs to your own task plans and schedules, assuming leadership role in day-to-day technical issues.
You will conduct and generate input to the software design review.
You will support the testing processes for development, production and service.

You will bring ...

Knowledge and ideally experience in both firmware design and implementation.
Programming capabilities in C, C++ and/or .NET/C# and in programming under Linux embedded or other OS like FreeRTOS. Windows PC application programming is a plus.
Knowledge in FPGA programming.
Technical skills as required by the projects (e.g., E-CAD design, instrumentation (test equipment).
Ability to identify, manage and communicate risks.
