FPGA Engineer

Description And Requirements

This position is an FPGA Engineer in Server Development within the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role in the ThinkSystem Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter market. Opportunities on the team include developing innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands.

The role also entails solving unique client challenges through the custom development of solutions and direct engagement with customers. The candidate will become an integral and active member of a development team that is highly motivated to engage, understand and solve the technical challenges of today and shape the server designs of tomorrow.

Basic Qualifications:

 

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• 3+ years of experience with x86 or AMD architecture design
• 3+ years of experience with EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation
  
  
   

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• Experience in VHDL or Verilog programming and setting up test benches for verification of FPGA logic.
• 10+ years of experience in x86 or AMD architecture and hardware design. Server design experience is preferred
• Experience in embedded controllers (ex. PSOC, microcontroller), including schematic design and programming logic.
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows Operating systems. Experience with OS virtualization is a plus.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python and Windows Power Shell) preferred.
