Your Role

The General Manager of the Payer Sales will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the payer-focused business unit within the company. This role will involve strategic planning, business development, product development requirements and roadmaps, and operational execution to ensure the success and growth of our payer solutions and Innovaccer’s business in the commercial payer market.  The primary responsibility will be the growth of Innovaccer’s Payer business, and the Payer GM will closely align with Innovaccer’s senior product leader for the Payer market.   

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the healthcare payer landscape, a strong understanding of healthcare software technology, and a proven track record in leadership and business management.

A Day in the Life

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the overall strategy for the payer business unit, aligning with the company’s vision, goals, and objectives.
    • Identify growth opportunities within the payer market, including opportunities to leverage our existing product portfolio, advance new products/solutions, services, and partnerships.
    • Lead the development and implementation of business plans that drive revenue, market share, and profitability.
  • Business Development:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the payer industry, including health plans, insurance companies, and other relevant entities.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and alliances, to expand the payer business.
    • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with strategic clients and partners.
    • Innovaccer’s Payer sales team will report directly to the Payer GM.
  • Product and Solution Portfolio:
    • Bring a strong perspective on client requirements and competitor capabilities; monitor industry trends and regulatory requirements to inform product strategy and Innovaccer’s basis of competitive differentiation;
    • Jointly set product direction and a business plan for products and solutions tailored to the needs of payers, ensuring they meet market demands and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure the successful launch and adoption of new solutions.
  • GTM Operations and Channel Strategy;
    • Oversee OKRs (CARR, NPV + CARR), GTM resource allocation, and performance metrics.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure OKRs and financial targets are met or exceeded.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to executive leadership on the performance and progress of the payer business unit.
    • Engage and develop C-level executive relationships.
    • Leverage our partnerships to develop new client relationships and increase client value delivery.

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA, MHA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on payer solutions or healthcare software technology.
  • Proven track record of driving growth, developing strategies, leading successful business units, and hitting sales targets
  • Experience in managing dynamic, cross-functional teams, GTM planning and execution, and delivering on business performance objectives
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare payer landscape, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and industry challenges.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and develop a strong culture of growth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic and outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
