Job Description:
This position will work closely with the GIS Training coordinator to aid development of TxDOT specific GIS training to business units across the state. Additionally, the position will work closely with other technical staff to identify GIS training and documentation needs to help build TxDOT Geospatial standards and support data and platform governance processes. Staff creates, updates, and conducts agency GIS training, assists in facilitating events, and serves as a GIS SME.
Responsibilities:
Development of training materials and job aids, standard operating procedures related to GIS/geospatial training curricula
Translation of key GIS workflows into documentation, user guides, training materials, and presentations
Documentation of platform and environment standards to support GIS governance practice
Coordination and engagement with GIS users, solution support
Development of tools, dashboards, web apps, and other GIS products in coordination with TxDOT business area programs and training on final products
Video/audio recording and editing
Microsoft platform – SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint or Visio
Technical writing
Staff will be expected to participate or lead training sessions, test and validate training modules and coursework, and assist with visual content development such as graphics and video examples.
Formal education in Communications, Education, Geographic Information Systems, or other learning modalities can be substituted for professional experience.

Profession GIS experience with data analysis, cartography, web-GIS, training, or data analytics.
