Greenplum Database Administrator the Greenplum will administer the Greenplum infrastructure for the organization, as well as multiple development and test infrastructures.
The Administrator will also be involved in advanced support and administer Greenplum cluster providing support for all administrative tasks such as user management, security planning and implementation, backups, disk management and cluster maintenance (e.g. re-indexing or node balancing
Responsibilities: 
Maintain and screen Greenplum capacity planning, administration, expansion and install, configure Greenplum environment components and manage troubleshoot scheduled analytics, Exposure in Platform as a Service experience.
Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Greenplum infrastructure, file system management, log files, and monitoring; Collaborate with application teams to apply updates, patches, version upgrades as required.
Diligently partner with the infrastructure, network, database, application teams to provide high data quality and availability.
Develop and maintain documents pertaining to installation and configuration for installations/deployments and support; Accountable for assessment of current technical infrastructure and provide performance monitoring of routines and tuning of tools; Document best practices, guidelines, and make recommendations for future environments; Align with the systems engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required for Hadoop and to expand existing environments; Monitor Greenplum cluster connectivity and security, support and maintenance; and
Responsible for installation, administration, and support of Windows and Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications & Technical Skills: 
Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field and/or relevant work experience required. 
Proven deep understanding of Greenplum technology Ability to Add and remove nodes, keep track of jobs, monitor critical parts of the cluster, schedule and configure it and take backups.
Demonstrated experience as a technical leader with strong acumen in architecture, design, development, testing, and administration of Hadoop based solutions.
Ability to work independently and work with internal and external teams to deliver results.
