Description

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, identifying and resolving any connectivity or performance issues.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connections.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to implement hardware and network upgrades, ensuring compatibility and security.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring data security and access controls are in place.
  • Perform regular software and firmware updates on network equipment to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides.
  • Conduct network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and implement necessary security measures.
  • Provide technical support and assist end-users with hardware and network-related issues.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the company's hardware and network infrastructure remains current and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and intranets.
  • Configure routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
  • Install and support network operating systems.

Hardware Configuration and Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and other hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure hardware compatibility and recommend upgrades when necessary.

System Security:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's computer systems and networks.
  • Monitor network traffic for security breaches and investigate security incidents.
  • Install and update antivirus software and other security tools.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to server and network connectivity.
  • Document and maintain records of hardware and network configurations.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions.
  • Test and verify data backups to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and update disaster recovery plans.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals, including software developers and system administrators.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users to understand and address their technical needs.
  • Stay informed about advancements in hardware and networking technologies.

 

Qualifications

  • Network Administration, Engineering, and Troubleshooting skills
  • Network Security and Network Design skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Certifications in network administration and engineering such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar are a plus
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of proven experience as a Hadwrare Networking Specialist or similar role.
  • Certifications in IT Hardware & Networking are added advantage.
  • Aged should not be more than 30 years.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and networking protocols.
  • Familiarity with network security practices and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
