Job Description

As the Head of Data & Analytics, you will play a crucial role in instilling a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization. Responsible for formulating and executing data & analytics strategies, you will lead a team of data engineering professionals, shape data architecture, manage data solutions, and drive data analytics initiatives. This pivotal role is focused on utilizing data for a competitive advantage, operational optimization, and strategic goal achievement. Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and coaching.

Data Strategy & Vision

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Data Engineering Leadership

• Develop and execute a robust data engineering strategy covering data collection, ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Lead a team of data engineers in designing and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure.

Data Governance and Quality

• Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures for data accuracy, consistency, and security.
• Oversee data quality initiatives, data cleansing, and integration efforts.

Data Architecture and Infrastructure

• Manage data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and analytics tools.
• Collaborate with IT and Engineering teams to ensure scalable and efficient data infrastructure.

Data Technology and Tools

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement cutting-edge data technologies and tools for enhanced data processing and analysis capabilities.

Data Analysis & Insights

• Collaborate with business teams to lead data analysis projects, deriving actionable insights and supporting decision-making.
• Ensure effective communication of findings through data visualization and reporting tools.

Data Security & Compliance

• Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
• Establish and maintain best practices for data security.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

• Ensure disaster recovery plans and procedures for the data platform and tools, ensuring business continuity during system failures or disasters.
• Ensure business uptime of Platform Infrastructure.

Vendor Management

• Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers, optimizing costs and leveraging new services and features.
• Review and define SLAs with various vendors, managing and tracking defined SLAs.

Qualifications, Experience & Expertise

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field with above-average academic grades.
• Professional certifications in data management or analytics highly desirable.
• 15-20 years of experience with at least 3+ years in Capital Markets.
• Proven experience in data engineering, data analytics, and data strategy development.
• Strong engineering management background with expertise in data tools and technologies such as data warehouses, data lakes, ETL, and data visualization tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Prior experience in building and leading data engineering and analytics teams.
