HIL Development Engineer
Must have experience with setting up test stands with Veristand and Simulink.
A little more about the position is that the day to day work involves:
- Creating and maintaining VeriStand Projects
- Mapping the controller I/O to the Data Acquisition I/O (NI PXI and SLSC)
- Creating simulations of restbus controllers
- Connecting plant model I/O to the DAQ/Controller I/O aliases
- Creating and maintaining LabCar Operator Projects
- Mapping the controller I/O to the Data Acquisition I/O (ETAS)
- Creating simulations of restbus controllers
- Connecting plant model I/O to the DAQ/Controller I/O aliases
- If the skills are there, making wiring modifications to the HIL load box and DUT harnessing
Specific Responsibilities For This Role Include
- Participate in factory team meetings to understand the scope and requirements for new HILs and modifications to existing HILs
- Assist in the design and configuration for new and updated HIL systems in support of vehicle platform needs.
- Provide onsite support to install and verify new HIL units. Perform modifications, upgrades, or troubleshooting for existing systems. This includes Data Acquisition Equipment used for simulation, load boxes, power supplies, IO channels, communications networks, PCs and monitors.
- Provide real-time support to troubleshoot and correct electrical issues on HIL simulators as required to maintain operational readiness. For HIL systems, this includes documentation of findings and root cause for potential warranty follow up with suppliers.
- Update HIL systems with new software releases from supplier.
- Provide onsite support during startup, testing and validation of new and modified HIL systems. Perform electrical troubleshooting, modifications, and corrective actions as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Ag & Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering when applied with electronics (mechatronics), Mechatronics Engineering, or commensurate experience.
- 1 year of industry experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues on embedded electrical systems or on the test infrastructure used to test embedded electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret and create or maintain electrical schematics.
