Responsibilities
The Senior HIL/SIL Validation Engineer will manage the Hardware in the Loop and Software in the Loop testing for the vehicle propulsion, electrical and software architectures. This Engineer will develop, implement, and validate the real-time models of the electrical and software designs of our electric vehicles. The candidate will work closely with the Algorithm and Model Development Engineers, Software Engineers, and Power Electronics Engineers to build the HIL/SIL Benches and customized correlated Digital Twins. Validation Engineer will guide and direct the Engineering Teams to ensure the systems meet the program requirements.
Responsibilities Include
Develop and build the HIL/SIL program at Re:Car
Collaborate with BEV Powertrain, power Electronics, low voltage Electrical and Software development teams to develop HIL/SIL and Validation Plans
Analysis and mathematical modeling of physical systems as needed.
Verify model accuracy through simulation and experimentation.
Define and develop workflows to automate model development and translate schematics into optimized HDL.
Develop and utilize computer simulations (Matlab/Simulink, HiL, SiL) to investigate new algorithms, modifications, or critical events.
Based on the high-level testing requirements, write detailed test specifications and scripts.
Integrate HDL code and C-code into the LabVIEW environment.
Work closely with Software Engineers on the integration of multiple sub-systems in Real-Time System.
Analyzing and visualizing large data sets from various data sources to understand the use cases.
Post-processing and analysis of experimental data to validate and inform models.
Technical communication of analysis results and tradeoffs
Participate in Agile Software development process.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer Software, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
Minimum five (5) years experience in designing and developing HIL/SIL models and scripts
Minimum three (3) years experience in using systems modeling platforms for test development, test automation, test requirements development, execution and reporting.
Minimum two (2) years experience working with low voltage and high voltage systems
Excellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.
