Brief Job Description (essential functions of the position):
The City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Technical Lead, for the ongoing technical support, enhancements and expansion of the enterprise IAM program. This critical role reports directly to the Director of Identity and Access Management and provides innovative technical leadership and engineering expertise which will drive the direction of the program’s architecture, infrastructure, capabilities, components, and standards.
 

The primary objects of this program are:

  • Enhance User Experience: To simplify and improve user access to applications and information inside and outside of the City of Boston;
  • Reduced Administrative Overhead: Minimize the duplication of effort through streamline application provisioning and empower users to engage self-service functionality over the Service Desk;
  • Protect City Resources: Improve the security posture of the City of Boston through effective and efficient identity lifecycle management, access control and account auditing.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Designs and implements technical components of the IAM architecture, maintenance, operational support, IAM tools and technologies, and its integration to other 3rd party systems.
  • Implements IAM new solutions/enhancements across a variety of vendor products including SailPoint, Ping Identity, Radiant Logic and CyberArk.
  • Designs, develops and supports scalable and stable IAM solutions that meet business needs.
  • Serve as the lead technical resource for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team.
  • Works in partnership with the CISO, Director of IAM and other key business stakeholders to manage technical projects including updates, upgrades, architecture planning, and other
  • technical projects.
  • Write solution design, proposal documents, documentation, test cases.
  • Mentors and advises other members of the team on technical IAM best practices.
  • Translate business goals into technical requirements, conduct code/design reviews, and drive the technical implementation of IAM projects throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on
  • development role when the organization requires.
  • Captures any user related issues and determines and documents course of action for resolution.
  • Excellent team player, and flexible to work based on projects and deliverable deadlines.
