IBM MQ administrator

Inviting applications for the role of MQ administrator with a focus on RDQM on Linux. This is a short-term engagement with a time of 2 Months to 3 months.

This role require candidate to be onsite from day one. This could be Hybrid as well with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Candidate must work from New York office.

Responsibilities

  • MQ RDQM Implementation:
    • Design, implement, and maintain MQ RDQM solutions on Linux platforms.
    • Configure and manage Replicated Data Queue Managers to ensure high availability and data consistency.
  • Infrastructure Support:
    • Work closely with infrastructure teams to set up and optimize MQ environments on Linux servers.
    • Provide expertise in deploying and maintaining MQ clusters for improved performance and reliability.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
    • Monitor MQ RDQM infrastructure for performance issues, bottlenecks, and potential failures.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement security best practices for MQ RDQM on Linux, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and security policies.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MQ RDQM configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Train team members on best practices and proper usage of MQ RDQM on Linux.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with development teams to understand messaging requirements and provide optimal MQ solutions.
    • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate MQ RDQM into the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Optimize MQ configurations for maximum throughput, low latency, and efficient resource utilization.
    • Conduct performance tuning exercises to enhance overall system performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  1. Proven experience as an MQ administrator with a focus on RDQM on Linux.
  2. In-depth knowledge of IBM MQ and RDQM concepts, architecture, and best practices.
  3. Experience with Linux server administration and shell scripting.
  4. Strong understanding of messaging protocols and patterns.
  5. Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts in the context of MQ RDQM.
  6. Security expertise in implementing and maintaining secure MQ environments.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
