Information Engineer is focused on overseeing information engineering and corresponding data architecture to effectively and efficiently deliver information to enable all business needs through systems, databases, applications, and other technologies. The Engineer contributes to and implements the best practices on data architecture and data management to create a data-driven backbone, powering cutting-edge digital solutions. The Engineer is accountable for the shape of the physical data model of platform's data warehouse and the quality of its data exposed to the business users. Among many, the Engineer cooperates with Business Analysts and Information Architect to define logical realization of various business requirements around the data. The Engineer translates logical data model into physical using his expertise in Data Vault 2.0 methodology and supports its implementation providing specific technical requirements to Analytics Engineering team. The Engineer reviews code and suggests changes that optimize technical realization of specific business demands. The Engineer plays a key role in driving digital transformation for Roche and its affiliates.

 

Required Experience And Qualifications

 

  • Experienced in designing conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Understands traditional relational data modeling
  • Understands Data Vault 2.0 methodology
  • Understands data processing (ETL/ELT) and harmonization (master data enhancements) on structured and unstructured sources
  • Knows data governance and data catalog best practices
  • Understands dbt
  • Understands GIT

 

Nice-to-have Experience And Qualifications

 

  • Experienced in Data Vault 2.0 modeling (being certified is huge plus)
  • Experienced in dbt and Jinja
  • Knows the Pharma Commercial Data landscape
  • Understands the fundamentals of distributed data warehousing
