iOS Engineer

Job Description:

• As an iOS Engineer, you
  have proven experience in the full lifecycle of consumer facing mobile applications.
• In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of domestically built or localized features and functionality within a globally developed mobile application.
• This is a new team that sits within our Digital organization at our NJ headquarters.
• You will be working alongside other locally based engineers and be a founding member. Since this a new team, there is a unique opportunity to build new processes and ways of working that make meaningful change.
• Combined with close collaboration from global teams we focus across different layers including CX/UX, Fontend and Backend.
• Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and build localized functionality into the Volvo Cars application for the iOS platform.
• Help to build a strong local team to define, design, and ship new features
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Participate in a global development team, representing the North American market for standards and ways of working.

Necessary Skills

• Proficient with Objective-C and Swift UI.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Understanding of design principles and interface guidelines
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Familiarity with continuous integration

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent.
