As time permits, BA may be assigned to Project teams to gather and translate business needs into in-house custom developed product/solution requirements. The BA will work hand-in-hand with business, project, and management teams. BA will solicit, understand, and analyze business needs, data, objectives, and processes. BA will translate user need into materials for successful IT initiation, design, and development. BA will conduct user interviews and joint-application-development (JAD) sessions. BA will identify business "pain points” and rank user stories/use cases potential to improve business effectiveness/performance. BA will clarify and document IT project scope, current/future state, business/application workflows, functional/system requirements, system interaction diagrams, reporting and training requirements, data mapping, logical data models, metadata, screen mock-ups, and test cases. BA will actively participate in the software development life cycle (SLDC) and transfer information to IT Project teams. BA will be responsible for demonstrating requirement traceability within work products. BA will validate requirements were met within developed products and facilitate completion of user acceptance testing. BA will assist project manager in getting dates from business units to complete reviews.

Responsibilities

Participates in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases,

scope, and requirements relating to requests for new systems or existing system changes

Primarily support IT acquisition of products or services by developing scopes of work

Consults with project teams and architects to identify currently know solutions or performs market research

Gathers information/documentation from vendors or contractors

Translates business needs into requirements and functional/non-functional specifications 

Gather, clarify/define, and document scope, business scenarios, workflows, requirements, etc.

Conduct interviews, workshops, and JAD sessions

Analyzes and validates business requirements and processes, identifies opportunities for process
enhancement to benefit the Department, identifies gaps in information
