Description

The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is looking for a skilled, experienced, and motivated Software and Data Integration Engineer to join the team. The candidate will support State projects, enterprise-scale applications and technology platforms that support the personnel who serve the aging community or the aging community at large. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that software systems and components work seamlessly together through participation in planning, coordinating, developing, and implementing integrations using secure and cost-effective strategies, and provide post deployment support to end users.
This position will function as a highly skilled Software and Data Integration Engineer with specific responsibilities that include:
•Integration Planning: Collaborating with development and business unit teams to gather, define, and analyze integration requirements and objectives, translate into technical specifications and system architecture, and ensure that all systems are integrated to meet business and functional requirements.
•Systems Analysis: Analyze existing systems and understand their functionalities and data structures,

identify integration points and dependencies between different systems.
•Middleware Development: Design and develop middleware components (APIs) to facilitate communication between systems; implement data transformation and mapping logic to ensure compatibility between different data formats; Leverage database structure and optimize data storage and retrieval processes for efficient reporting and data management.
•Coding and Scripting: Write code or scripts to implement integration solutions, using programming languages (ex: Java, Python, C#) or integration tools to build connectors and interfaces.
•Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of integration solutions to identify and resolve issues, ensure that integrated systems meet performance, reliability, scalability, and security requirements and standards.
•Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve integration issues, including debugging code and analyzing log files, collaborating with other teams to address cross-functional integration challenges.
•Collaboration and Communication: Uses excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce technical and operational documentation that explains integrations to technical and non-technical users; Collaborates with cross-functional teams including developers, system architects, business analysts and business owners to communicate progress, challenges, and solutions.
•Deployment and Maintenance: Oversees the deployment of integration solutions into production environments, providing ongoing support and maintenance for integrated systems.
•Continuous Improvement: Stays informed about new technologies and best practices in integration, proactively identifies opportunities to improve existing integrations and proposes enhancements.
