Description

This position is a network architect/consultant for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Network, Security, and Telecom Team that is part of the Infrastructure Management Section.

This position will function as a highly skilled ITC2 with specific responsibilities that include: 
•  Business Relationship Management – effectively demonstrate learning agility to use and develop business process knowledge and define how technology will be designed to enable it. Use skills and experience to influence strategic direction and future releases.
•  Analyze and solve complex technical problems, including advanced data analysis and multiple technologies.
•  Use increased business knowledge to appropriately challenge status 
quo and drive business and IT collaboration.
•  Consults with clients to define requirements and recommend solutions.
•  Generate, identify, and qualify methods of incorporating technology with the standard industry practices.
•  Study technical trends and how to affect this acquired information with the purpose of upgrading the systems.
•  Serve as an advisor on industry alternatives, options, perils, and provide data on the advantages against the disadvantages of the same on the business processes and procedures.
•  Provides support for ongoing and recurring IT security audits of system.
•  Consults with program/project management to develop appropriate technical solutions.
•  Advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, impact on other business processes and system priorities.


Experience:
•  Extensive enterprise networking knowledge and skills:  Wide Area Networks (WAN). Local Area Networks (LAN), Storage Area Networks (SAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Data Center Networks, Routing, Switching, IPv4/IPv6, SD-WAN, Voice Over IP (VoIP), and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
•  Enterprise security knowledge and skills: Internet/DMZ/Internal Firewalls, Identity Access Management (IAM), Penetration Testing, Risk Management, Security Information Event Management (SIEM), and Web Proxy Services. 
•  Cisco IOS network device administration, architecture, and installation experience, with extensive knowledge of frame switching, VLANs, VRF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, PAT, VoIP, and QoS.
•  Cisco Firepower/ASA firewall administration skills including configuring and troubleshooting standard and extended ACLs, NAT, PAT, Cisco Secure client connections, and site-to-site VPNs using IKEv1/v2 and IPSec.
• Network device configuration and infrastructure automation skills using tools including PowerShell, Python, Docker, Ansible, SQL databases, APIs, Cisco DNA, and SD-WAN.
•  Excellent communication skills with an ability to quickly understand, discuss, and document complex technical concepts in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Required Skills:
5 years of experience in IT with consulting experience required
4-year college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field
6+ years’ experience as a network architect/engineer for a large enterprise network and security environment (150+ network connected sites and 3000+ users).
