  • Local Richmond, VA candidates needed as they must be able to work onsite at times, for meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Please do NOT submit candidates who were submitted to previous VDOT IT Financial Analyst reqs. Client is looking for NEW candidates ONLY.
  • Contractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through VDOT’s Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking.

 

Support of the fiscal, budgetary, and accounting operations for IT.  Plans, organizes, develops, maintains, and coordinates the development and implementation of fiscal operations, processes, policies and procedures for the IT program.

 

IT Financial Analyst will support development of the annual plan for the agency’s IT budget requests and manage the department’s expenditures.  Is required to analyze projects, infrastructure and applications in order to validate and/or control cost.  Will perform monthly program/project expense forecasting and analysis and assist with the review and analysis of the monthly Infrastructure (VITA) bill.  Perform procurement/vendor financial and pricing analysis.  Will be responsible for supporting executive decision making and presenting the financial aspects of projects to senior management. Requires understanding projects, applications, IT infrastructure and the key drivers of cost.

              

Support financial decision making by assisting with project business case documents for proposed IT projects and/or product lines.  Provides financial analytical support on new business initiatives and special projects as needed.

             

Will prepare cost/variance reports on a project and product line level basis.  Develops and distributes consolidated monthly project financial reports.

             

Participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets to promote financial accountability, and assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities.

 

Should be conversant in technology and financial disciplines. 

 

Soft Skills:  Providing good customer service to internal team members & external customers, comprehensive analytical skills (Excel, MS Word), being an effective communicator, as well as being self-motivated and showing initiative while accomplishing the task at hand.

 

  1. Extensive experience in the use of computers and software (Microsoft365) applications. Excel pivot tables, complex spreadsheets, etc. – Required 5 Years
  2. Extensive experience in financial analysis and forecasting – Required 5 Years
  3. Customer service to broad audiences; professionals, vendors, team members and executive staff – Required 5 Years
  4. General knowledge of accounting practices and financial management – Required 5 Years
  5. Experience in performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets to promote financial accountability – Highly desired 3 Years
  6. Commonwealth of VA Financial knowledge and applied experience – Highly desired 1 Years
  7. Experience with the Cardinal financial system - Highly desired 1 Years
