Overview

The IT Project Manager plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing IT projects within the organization. They are responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the business requirements. The IT Project Manager acts as the liaison between the technical team, stakeholders, and other departments, making sure that everyone is aligned with project goals and milestones.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Developing project plans, goals, and budgets
  • Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical paths
  • Leading and motivating cross-functional teams
  • Tracking project milestones and deliverables
  • Coordinating resource allocation and utilization
  • Managing project scope, changes, and risks
  • Conducting regular project status meetings and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with project management standards and methodologies
  • Managing stakeholder communication and expectations
  • Resolving issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Evaluating and improving project processes and performance
  • Preparing and presenting project evaluations and recommendations
  • Implementing quality control processes
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to project team members
  • Collaborating with vendors and external partners

     

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications
  • Proven experience in managing IT projects from initiation to closure
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and architecture
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Keen attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Previous experience in managing diverse and distributed project teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments
  • Understanding of change management principles and practices
