Job: IT Quality Control Financial Tester

Location : This position is primarily remote; however, this position will require reporting to the commission headquarters during key phases of the project - Solution Confirmation, Program Increment Cycles (PI), Showbacks, System Integration Test Cycles (SITs), User Acceptance Test (UAT), Go-Live, Immediately Post- Go-Live (Hypercare). Any absence from sessions requires prior approval from Project Principal. No additional compensation for any travel required, and rate is inclusive of any travel costs.

Justification: The financial functionality within the CBOS and UBOS systems are a primary method to capture revenue for the PTC and must work with a very high degree of reliability and accuracy.  The proper operation of this functionality requires dedicated and focused efforts in testing and validating of all changes.  This position will be solely dedicated to this testing and reporting to the PTC on the results with enough detail for the PTC to determine a course of action.  This position requires an experienced and strong IT financial software testing analyst who will be creating, executing, and documenting the results of test plans and scripts. This position will study and understand the complete set of CBOS and UBOS business processes, then write, execute, coordinate, and document the end-to-end testing of all aspects of the CBOS and UBOS system.  This includes all processes and systems including the telephony, ACH, and Credit Card processes.

 

Description of Duties

To provide assurances to the PTC that the financial back-office functionality works as desired, this position will perform the following duties:

•             Perform the testing functions defined within the attached PTC IT Quality Management Playbook.

 

•             Test Planning:  Document, develop, and maintain testing plans, test scripts and other documentation, as required, using PTC or other established software quality standards, procedures, templates, and methodologies.  These testing plans and scripts are to include very thorough positive and negative testing scenarios.

•             Schedule, Manage, execute, and coordinate the testing activities of internal and external staff under the direction of the PTC.

•             Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.

•             Document requirements in a Requirements Traceability Matrix as directed by the PTC.

•             Leads, and participates in project team activities for system work efforts related to enterprise systems.

•             Must fully understand all CBOS and UBOS end-to-end processes.

•             Will be the person whose job will also entail to try and break the system before our customers run into issues.

•             Unit Testing:  Update, develop, and execute test cases and test scripts for thorough Unit Testing and provide documented proof of test results.  Conduct all positive and negative testing necessary on the development platform to ensure that the end-product is ready for System Integration Testing.

•             System Integration Testing:  Update, develop, and execute positive and negative test cases and test scripts for thorough System Integration Testing to occur as directed by the PTC.

•             Regression Testing:  Because of the nature of the changes, the PTC is concerned about the impacts on other functionality, therefore, this position will coordinate and conduct Regression Testing as instructed by the PTC.  This position will perform regression testing to cover functional and non-functional tests to ensure that previously developed and tested software still works as expected after changes.  This may require new test cases and scripts to be created, and previously created test cases updated where applicable, then re-executed.

•             UAT Testing:  Create, coordinate, and execute positive and negative UAT test scripts utilizing a PTC provided template and Azure DevOps.

•             Perform browser compatibility and Mobile device testing as directed by the PTC.

•             Create and keep current testing results within the PTC’s Azure DevOps (ADO) system.  This includes the responsibility to log bugs and resolutions in Azure DevOps.

•             Obtain business user sign-off on the tested solution.

•             Assist with conducting lessons learned sessions during and after projects to identify recommendations for improvement.

•             Ability to work independently to accomplish the tasks and duties assigned.

•             Adhere to the PTC standards, policies, and procedures.

•             Utilizes various software and/or technology tools to perform job duties.

•             Perform tasks and other duties as assigned by the PTC.

 

Minimum Experience

•             2 years of financial software application development testing experience.  Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

•             Proficient in the Microsoft Office 365 suite of business software including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus proficient in Microsoft ADO Testing Module.

•             Thorough understanding of the financial terms used within financial applications.

•             Experience with testing highly integrated transactional applications related to revenue generation with an understanding of accounting and billing terms.

 

Desired Skillset

•             The ideal candidate will have 8 or more years of expertise in software development testing on projects of various sizes and subject matters, including, but not limited to, integration, infrastructure, security, and COTS and custom software.

•             The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years’ experience with testing financial transactions and other finance functionality within finance applications.

•             Experience testing MS Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations.

•             Experience testing SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management and SAP Convergent Meditation application implementations.

•             Additional beneficial skills include:

•             One or more software Testing Certifications.

•             Proficient in MS Azure DevOps testing module.

•             Enterprise Business Solutions, specifically SAP projects.

•             ITIL / ITSM practices and methodologies.

 

Certifications / Education

•             Bachelor’s degree in business management or information systems.  Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

 

Engagement Requirements

•             The Candidate shall be located within the Continental United States.  There is no opportunity for “Off-shore” resources for this Statement of Work.

•             Successfully complete ePATCH background check, and ClearChecks National Criminal Background Check prior to engagement start.

•             Overtime requests always need to have prior approval of Project Principal with the rightful reasons for overtime.
