Summary:

This position requires strong technical expertise in system administration, data extraction, and engineering. The IT Systems Analyst implements and oversees complex computer systems for the organization to increase efficiency.

 

All activities must support the strategic goals and objectives of the Office of Information Technology.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The IT Systems Analyst:

  • Works with Business Analysts to implement requirements, processes, and functional specifications.
  • Supports software, web, and database applications, assisting with installation, implementations, and upgrades.
  • Develops and implements databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies.
  • Provides database administration support for the organization’s data warehouse environment.
  • Implements complex IT solutions, defines and analyzes system problems, and validates standards and solutions.
  • Coordinates testing and process changes.
  • Provides second-level technical support for end users.
  • Optimizes BI solutions for performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Have knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, software testing, and quality assurance.
  • Be familiar with project management tools and techniques.
  • Have knowledge of SQL, database management systems, data modeling, and data analysis techniques.
  • Understand software development tools such as JIRA, Git, or SVN.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least two years of experience in application development and systems analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
