The Utah Department of Workforce Services is actively looking for two senior Java/Angular web consultants for immediate hire on the Core Web Team. Our team’s core responsibility is to develop, support, modernize and maintain internal and public facing web applications that serve the needs of the citizens of the State of Utah. As an example, during the Covid 19 pandemic, in three weeks, our team built the platform behind
https://rentrelief.utah.gov/ that allows the Department of Workforce Services to provide emergency rental assistance to tens of thousands of people that have faced or currently face eviction. Whether you prefer a long term or fast-paced, short term project, this is the team for you. We have more than 60 applications in production and many more in the pipeline. You will always be challenged with exciting new ideas and technologies such as Amazon Web Services, CI/CD with
GitHub Actions and implementing a DevOps culture.

Required Qualifications
● Experience with modern web development technologies including but not limited to:
o Java Web APIs in the modern Spring stack (Spring MVC / Spring Boot / JPA)
o Angular user interfaces
o Relational database design with Oracle/PostgreSQL
o Bootstrap 4+ responsive design
● Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM including experience with the Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence), sprint planning and retrospectives, and regular team stand-up meetings.
● Experience working on a development team in both new and existing projects.
● Experience with GitHub and GitFlow Pull Request model
● Excellent oral and written communication
