Description

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience being a powerhouse engineer in strongly typed languages.
  • 3+ years of experience working with scalable microservices.
  • 3+ years of experience creating services from scratch as a lead, or by yourself.
  • Typescript
  • Java
  • Firm understanding of Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP
  • A fervent adherent to SOLID principles
  • Understanding of DevOps and IaC a plus


**Someone that comes from Etsy or Disney+ would have the ideal background** he has hired a couple folks from these organizations.
What projects will they be working on? No specific project, they are working with tons of clients and each one has "tickets” that the development team will work on. Said on average it would be 8-12 tickets a day.

TECHNICAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work collaboratively with our engineering team to build the best-in-class experiences for external customers, internal customers, and for our own engineers (DevX)
  • Contribute to architecture discussions (all engineers collectively own our architecture) around microservices that power our engineering systems
  • Design, implement, and refactor exciting industry leading frontend & backend experiences for our users & developers
  • Troubleshoot production issues wherever they happen
  • Review and discuss code being developed by the team at large and provide feedback around best practices
  • Takes on ownership of a suite of microservices that are our most critical for business success
  • Can confidently work on most of the codebases we have/create


BUSINESS & PEOPLE EXPECTATIONS

  • A member of the Engineering team who can talk eloquently to our internal customers about unforeseen issues of implementing features requested.
  • Someone others want to be around as much as they can.
  • The person everyone would call if they were in trouble.
  • Having a humble attitude towards technology. (We've got a lot of great people working at StickerGiant, but many don't have experience with the level of engineering we are doing)
  • Can help solve problems for other engineers.
  • Has the ability to inspire others to be better than they believe they can be.
  • A lifelong passion for writing code, rather than talking about writing code.
