Java/Kafka Backend Developer

Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Senior Java/Kafka Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in the apparel industry. Located in Columbus, OH, we are ideally looking for local candidates who can work onsite, but are open to considering remote applicants. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Java and Kafka development, with a preference for those who have industry experience in apparel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Java and Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend systems with front-end interfaces.
• Design and implement scalable and reliable backend systems to support high-volume applications.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, code optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of data through proper database management and application design.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and adhere to best practices in software development.
• Lead and mentor junior developers in best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in backend development with Java.
• Proven expertise in Apache Kafka and its ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
• Experience with database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
• Proficient in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience in the apparel industry is highly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and capability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
