Description

The Jr Engineering Test Technician will be part of the engineering test team and will work to develop, build, and execute test plans, and test fixtures to support product development testing, and end-of-line testing. The ideal candidate will have background in basic mechanical and electrical diagrams, mechanical and electrical assemblies, and basic software programming.

Essential Functions

  • Design, build, operate, and maintain test fixtures and automated test equipment for PCBs and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Work with engineers and other technicians to develop and maintain test systems to automate and streamline engineering laboratory product testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, develop, and execute test plans to ensure quality
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate testing into the product development cycle
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts test fixtures
  • Create, maintain, and present test reports
  • Design and implement test fixtures for the entire product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, troubleshoot, repair, and improve
  • Ensure that all testing equipment, hardware, and software is properly calibrated and maintained
  • Analyze and report test results to the development team and make recommendations for improvements
  • Participate in product design reviews to identify potential quality issues early in the development cycle

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience utilizing LabVIEW, Python, Java, or other programming languages is preferred
  • Familiarity with testing of PCBAs, electro-mechanical, and electronic assemblies
  • Familiarity designing and implementing test fixtures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


 

  • Excellent communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions at the manufacturing site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position is very active and requires standing for up to 8 hours, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
