Job Description:
• Must be local to Atlanta.
Minimum Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of IT Professional experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Kafka administrator.
• Hands-on experience in event streaming and stream processing technologies like Spark & Flink.
• Experience in the Atlassian stack tools Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (GIT).
• Experience in Monitoring & Alerting tools like Newrelic, Grafana & Prometheus.
• Experience in Ansible automation development.
• Experience in Jenkins automation development.
• Experience in the scripting languages shell and Python.
• Experience in the operating systems Linux (RedHat) and Windows Server.
• Experience in virtual machine systems such as VMware and containerized systems such as Docker/Kubernetes.
• Ability to work as a team member with collaborative thinking.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Design & build open-source/vendor-supported Kafka infrastructure.
• Responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, and security of Kafka infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation processes for Kafka infrastructure.
• Responsible for managing Kafka infrastructure monitoring and alerting in Newrelic.
• Responsible for issue reporting and suggesting solutions to frequently occurring issues.
• Ensure knowledge sharing and documentation.
• Integrate with the team, supporting middleware technologies as needed.
• Responsible for managing Linux-based Kafka environment.
• Responsible for troubleshooting Kafka producer & consumer applications.
• Participating in ad-hoc projects allocated by the Management and completing them within agreed timeframes.
• Professional skills development by participation in training and constant self-education
