Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join our team and take ownership of building and scaling the complex, mission-critical data systems that support our platform. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data pipelines, optimizing data flows, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our data infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain the data architecture and infrastructure to support our platform's data processing and analytics needs.

- Build scalable and efficient data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, identify data sources, and ensure data quality and integrity throughout the system.

- Optimize and fine-tune data processing workflows to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data systems.

Qualifications :

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a startup environment.

- Strong experience in building and managing data pipelines using modern data processing frameworks and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.).

- Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).

- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.

- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

- Experience in healthcare or fintech startups is highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.

- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and mentor other engineers.

Other Requirements :

- Availability for significant overlap with US Central Time working hours.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
