Role: Lead Network Engineer

Oversees the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of networked information systems. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.

 

NETWORK PROVISIONING AND ENGINEERING FOCUS:

  • Responsible for all duties pertaining to internet circuit order fulfillment, including order review,  approval, and order entry into a billing system
  • Audit existing circuit inventory for cost savings and consolidation opportunities.
  • Manage internal database systems to accurately track orders via ServiceNow, SharePoint trackers, spreadsheets and other applications
  • Manage day-to-day project tasks for implementing internet services, from close of sale through hand-off to IT customer support
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of internet circuits and service offerings
  • Demonstrate proficiency in service delivery by managing multiple concurrent projects

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Utilizes technical knowledge to effectively configure, support, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Router IOS filters such as Access Control Lists, Route-maps, and Network Address Translation.
  • Review, examine and evaluate existing Network Topologies for entire FMCNA Wide Area Network and provide input for possible future migration to newer technologies. · Design and deploy company LANs, and WANs including servers, routers, switches, and other hardware.
  • Provide graphical representations of FMCNA network topologies using software tools to provide a higher-level overview of existing and future topology migrations.
  • Assist other members of Network Engineering department to resolve network outages in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the planning, execution and completion of Network Engineering projects as necessary.
  • Collaborate with prospective external vendors such as hardware re-sellers and service providers in the implementation and completion of more complex network engineering initiatives. · Creates and maintains knowledge base for technical questions. Works with customers directly as needed to address issues.
  • May provide assistance to junior level staff with general tasks that require a better understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May refer to senior level staff for assistance with higher level problems that may arise.
  • Escalates issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required 

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

  • 10 years’ related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Current CCIE Certification(Not Mandatory).
  • Network troubleshooting and wireless network experience.
  • Ability to communicate with varied audiences.
  • Previous experience in hospital environments strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in all areas of network design from planning and pre-testing through deployment and implementation.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Proven experience and success with LAN, and WAN design and implementation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education

ANY GRADUATE
