Job Title: Lead Network Engineer
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6 months with plan to convert to full time- if they are on the fence, they will extend to 12 months.
Only USC
Hours: (Ask about OT)
- This person must embrace afterhours and weekend work because clients will sometimes have maintenance work that needs done on the weekend.
- MF 8-5 if there’s consistent weekend work, this would warrant switching their work week to starting on Wednesday.
- 40hour week.
- Could be some overtime if the workload warrants it.
- Central or mountain time would be to their advantage but not opposed to East Coast
Reason for the opening:
Will be working on multiple projects.
team gets involved when the customer is interested in buying lumen services.
A lot of Lumens customers are not network savy.
- For example: Customer comes in and wants Lumen to do the design routing.
- This team is essentially the turn key for the client.

- 2 have been verbally confirmed.
- 1 is for a IP VPN
Team Background:
2 Architects and a delivery manager- Would be on their own in the maintenance windows but would be able to lean on architects in other phases
Day-2-Day:
- Participate in technical and design discussions with IT executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of SDWAN / SASE technologies and practices
- Act as a trusted advisor to ascertain client requirements and lead implementation discussions to ensure the appropriate solutions proposed are designed successfully.
- In collaboration with the client engagement teams, assist with running customer network transformation workshops.
- Field technical questions and educate customers on the value proposition regarding Lumen’s Managed and Professional and Managed Network Consulting Services including assessment, consulting, migration and optimization services.
- Technical contribution to Proposals and Responses to RFI/RFP/RFTs.
- Support various marketing activities, which may include speaking at industry conferences, presenting webinars, and engaging in community events.
- Fluency in implementing and designing complex SD WAN and MPLS solutions.
- Do a knowledge transfer session to know how to deploy tool for customer, gather data.
- Wants someone who is a senior engineer to take a Method of procedure from architects Example: Have two firewalls in parallel and wants to simplify
- Wants someone to come in and take steps to configure and trouble shoot and be able to roll it back if needed
Must haves:
- BGP & OSPF Routing protocols need to be proficient in Cisco,
- Need to have experience setting up VPN connection from router to aggregator connection.
- SD Wan EXP Could be any type of SD but this is a must have.
- 5 years of implementation experience
- Need to be comfortable talking to customers they do not need 8 years of this but previous exposure is crucial
- Bachelor of Science Technical degree or equivalent exp (Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
- Flexibility and ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Selfmotivated, well-organized, and detail oriented
- MUST BE A USC due to federal request needs to be onshore as well
Pluses:
- Cisco Meraki would be a plus since their team does not have experience with that.
- Monitoring Tools, such as looking at network utilization reports.
- Any Automation exp would need script experience such as python
