· Technical lead for overall electric drive projects and executes production development processes with plant team.
· Responsible for functional decomposition and defining the interfaces between sub-systems
· Work with the CoCs and customers to define and develop the engineering requirements of electric drive systems. Designs system including analysis of electric drive components.
· Steer exploration of alternatives to establish a system level solution.
· Secure competitive system solutions for the application needs.
· Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps.
· Work close to other teams, e.g. simulation, Motor, Hardware and Software development and system verification.
· Plans, coordinates, and carries out the product analysis, design, and testing activities for electric drive systems (electric machines, inverters, converters, batteries, protection devices, control systems, conductors, and connectors)
· Works with internal SE teams (electric machines, inverters, converters, batteries, protection devices, control systems, power electronics, software) and external suppliers to define and develop the component requirements and then to support the component development following production processes.
· Works with customer to integrate the electric drive system into the vehicle. This involves designing electric drive system interfaces and specifying the related vehicle systems to meet the vehicle requirements.
· Commission new systems and vehicles, including troubleshooting vehicle system problems and determining application specific software performance parameters
· Plans and executes functional performance verification of electric drive systems.
· Plans and executes bench marking of vehicles and/or electric drive systems.
Required Skills:
· Product engineering experience
· Product design experience (at least 3 years)
· Experience leading technical projects (at least 2 years)
· Technical experience relating to the development (design and/or test) of electric drive systems (at least 2 years)
· Demonstrated ability to design electric drive systems achieving program technical and financial goals in a production environment. Key focus on requirements definition and documentation.
· Demonstrated ability to verify electric drive components and systems including test planning, test setup, test execution, and test documentation. Scope includes functional performance, environmental qualification, certification, component reliability, and system durability.
