Linux Engineer

Position Overview:

As an Engineer, candidate will be expected to help the team craft data solutions to meet business and enterprise requirements using Linux, Shell, Perl, Python, Oracle Exadata and emerging data technologies within a modern orchestrated CI/CD DevOps supported data pipeline.

Position Requirements:

Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong emphasis on Linux development.
Strong Practical working experience in Linux server configuration and shell scripting.
Solid understanding of SSH/SFTP including public key authentication and configuration options.
Practical knowledge of Unix file systems including basics of mount types, permissions, standard tools, pipes.
Working knowledge of Python and preferably also Perl.
Experience using and/or configuring common SDLC tools that support Agile, such as Jira, Jenkins, Ansible
Practical working experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata
Understanding of the Agile methodology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Passion for automation and continual process improvement
Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience
Bachelors degree in STEM related field.
Practical working experience using ETL tools, preferably Informatica – desired.
Experience designing and building data warehouses and knowledge of the data flows involved – desired.
Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Business Intelligence concepts – desired.
Willingness to take on problems outside of current skillset and experience – desired.
