• Very strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and troubleshooting O/S (SLES, RHEL) as well as Lifecycle activities. (Build, Patching, Decommission)
• Strong experience with Ansible and/or Ansible Tower (AWX)
• Experience in working and configuring open-source enterprise technologies.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve operational challenges contributing to defined
service level objectives.
• Strong experience with additional automation/configuration management tools (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, or an equivalent)
• Fluency in multiple scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent)
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services
• GitHub Action and GitLab CI/CD
• Strong experience with DevSecOps automation tools like Docker, Ansible.
• Experience with DevSecOps monitoring tools like Nagios, Splunk.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
• Experience with containerization technologies, Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, etc
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or associated discipline preferred and a minimum of 10 years of Systems Administration experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
• Seven years of experience in Systems Administration for SuSE Linux systems in a large-scale production environment.
• Knowledge of the following product support practices and concepts:
o Automation, scripting, playbook experience with Ansible, Ansible Tower (AWX)
o Scripting languages (e.g. bash, ksh, perl, python, ruby, etc )
o IT service level agreements
o Performance monitoring, tuning, and debugging (e.g., GTF traces, and region and transaction dumps)
o Process/product testing and verification
o Designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs
• Knowledge of one or more IT platforms or products:
o Puppet
o Virtualization technology – (VMWare/vSphere, Nutanix)
