Description

This person will be the primary person responsible for managing and maintaining the infrastructure for the Department as it relates to the data retrieval.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for the incumbent include the following:

  • In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems, command-line interfaces, and shell scripting
  • Proficiency in configuring, securing, and maintaining Linux servers and systems
  • Familiarity with encryption protocols, security best practices, and compliance standards
  • Implementing encryption for data at rest and in transit, ensuring data security
  • Writing scripts for data retrieval, automation, and system integration
  • Understanding of API design and development principles
  • Developing and maintaining APIs for integrating the Linux data retrieval system with other law enforcement databases and systems
  • Understanding of information retrieval techniques, indexing, and search algorithms
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the data retrieval system.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk assessment
  • A commitment to understanding the specific needs of the law enforcement agency and tailoring the Linux data retrieval system to meet those needs effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, law enforcement personnel, and other stakeholders involved in the project
  • Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that may be valuable to law enforcement
  • Organizing and maintaining project documentation, including version control and record-keep-keeping
