Location: Marvell Bangalore Office, Hybrid (2-3 times in Office)
Duration: 6 months to start (possibility of extension)
Linux System Admin
Job Summary: The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for the deployment,
configuration, and maintenance of Linux systems and related infrastructure. This role requires
deep technical expertise in Linux environments, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to
collaborate effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities
Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, including
distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Suse and Debian.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor server performance and availability, diagnose issues,
and implement performance tuning to ensure optimal system operations.
Security Management: Implement and manage security measures, including firewall
configurations, access controls, and regular patching. Ensure systems are compliant with
security policies and best practices.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup strategies, perform regular
backups, and test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
User Support: Provide technical support for end-users and internal teams, addressing
issues related to Linux server access, performance, and connectivity.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations,
procedures, and changes. Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Project Involvement: Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and
implementations of new technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
achieve project goals.
Automation: Utilize scripting and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks
and enhance system efficiency.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Linux
systems, applications, and infrastructure.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Linux system administration or a
similar role.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator
(RHCSA), CompTIA Linux+, or similar are preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Suse,
and Debian).
Experience with virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, or Docker.
Knowledge of system monitoring tools and performance tuning.
Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is
a plus.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced
environment.
Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
